Precision Manufacturing & Prototyping

Avionics Manufacturing, Precision Fabrication & Composite Prototyping

RDT designs and manufactures avionics and produces the mechanical hardware required to integrate, protect, and test those systems.

Our in-house capabilities include precision 4-axis CNC machining and lathe work, CNC laser cutting and etching, hard anodizing, electroplating, and carbon-fiber composite fabrication. These processes support avionics enclosures, precision components, mounting hardware, test fixtures, prototype structures, and experimental aircraft.

Keeping fabrication close to the engineering work allows us to evaluate fit, materials, assembly, integration, and test results as a design develops. Our experience building composite aircraft also supports customer design work and the development of purpose-built flight-test platforms.

Product & Portfolio Exemplars

Hardware engineered for integration, testing, and use.

RDT’s in-house manufacturing supports our avionics products and the hardware that connects them to the larger system. Precision four-axis CNC machining, lathe work, and CNC laser cutting and etching support enclosures, mounting interfaces, precision components, test fixtures, and prototype assemblies.

Engineering and fabrication remain connected as we evaluate geometry, fit, assembly, and access for integration and maintenance. This helps us resolve practical issues while the design is developing and carry improvements directly into the next hardware iteration.

Hard anodizing and electroplating extend that capability into surface finishing. Materials and finishes are selected around the component’s function and operating environment, including the needs of mating surfaces and the completed assembly. Mechanical design, fabrication, finishing, and system integration are treated as related engineering decisions.

Our carbon-fiber composite work supports lightweight structures, complex aerodynamic shapes, prototype aircraft components, and experimental flight platforms. We connect fabrication with structural analysis, weight management, manufacturability, and electromagnetic analysis where relevant to the design. Our founder’s extensive experience designing and building composite aircraft informs both the engineering decisions and the practical work required to produce usable hardware.

The objective is a direct path from engineering requirements to hardware that can be assembled, evaluated, and refined. Measurements and test results feed back into the design, supporting efficient development of avionics, integration hardware, and purpose-built prototypes.

Planned Low-Observable Flight Demonstrator

RDT is developing a low-observable flying-wing demonstrator approximately the size of the MQM-178 Firejet.

The aircraft will provide a dedicated platform for evaluating RDT avionics, including autopilot and guidance functions, navigation, secure communications, onboard autonomy, and ground-station integration.

The program will also support evaluation of the engineering tools used to design and analyze the aircraft. Ground and flight testing will provide evidence for assessing model predictions, investigating discrepancies, and improving the connection between analysis and physical system behavior.

This development builds on our founder’s extensive experience designing, constructing, and testing composite aircraft

Build Your Next Avionics or Prototype System with RDT

Engage RDT for avionics manufacturing, precision components, prototype fabrication, composite structures, and hardware integration.

Whether the requirement is an electronics enclosure, a sensor mount, a test fixture, or a composite assembly, we bring the engineering understanding needed to connect the hardware to the complete system. Design, fabrication, finishing, assembly, and evaluation can be considered together as the work develops.

Bring us your requirements, drawings, or integration challenge. We can help define a practical approach to producing the hardware and evaluating its performance.
